The Gang

I’m not a nutritionist, chef, photographer or writer but, I have a passion for clean eating, talking and I can type! Here is my family’s story…

MC is 12 and is ALL boy!  He is my second bonus child.  He came to live with us in the summer of 2011.  We’ve had our ups and downs, but I just cannot imagine our lives apart.  Because I didnt give birth or raise MC from infancy, I dont hold myself completely responsible for his diet.  However, since MC has been living with us, I pride myself of his culinary couriosity!  Starting this December we have been eating mostly paleo and have started doing crossfit workouts with him.   MCs behavior has become more grounded, in control and level headed.

JR is 8 and has always been in the 95 percentile for height and weight.   When I had JY, JRs weight started to really rise.  JR is very sweet and very gentle… our little gentle giant!!  He is my big eater and sometimes it can really shows on his belly.  January of 2011 we took him to get a sports physical and were told he was clinically obese.  The first thing I did was took him off of school lunches.  We started this past December (2012) doing Crossfit kids workouts with him- hes loving it!!!

JY is the baby of the family.  She is 5 and “spit fire” doesn’t even come close to describing her!  Since she has been paleo-ish for most of her life, she is fit, strong and there won’t be a lot of talk about her.  I will, however, mention if she eats or snubs my paleo creations!

Last but not least, the love of my life: BL.  BL spent 25 years staying fit for the service.  He’s never had a problem acing his PT tests.  Right after JR was born, he had two of his disks fuzed together and they are reinforced with a titanium plate.  With the threat of paralysis looming over his head, he takes the crossfit workouts at his own pace.  He’s not big into the olympic weight lifting but he loves the community.

I hope you enjoy our families journey with implementing crossfit kids, paleo, our traveling and our trials and tribulation to family fitness!
